Applied neuroscience-related research and development (R&D) work
Led by our clinical director, Adjunct Professor Dr. Hiro Koo, our R&D endeavors involve the relentless exploration and experimentation of novel ideas, technologies, and methodologies, all aimed at advancing knowledge and fostering groundbreaking discoveries. To gain a glimpse into the depth of our R&D work, we invite you to peruse the enlightening slide show above.
Applied neuroscience is a field of study that focuses on the practical application of knowledge and techniques from neuroscience to solve real-world problems. It involves using scientific findings and principles from neuroscience to address issues in various domains such as healthcare, education, technology, and more.
Applied neuroscience bridges the gap between theoretical neuroscience research and its practical implementation. It aims to utilize insights gained from studying the brain and nervous system to develop interventions, therapies, and technologies that can improve human health, cognition, behavior, and performance.
Applied neuroscience covers a wide range of topics and research areas. Neurofeedback or EEG Biofeedback can be considered a branch or application of applied neuroscience. It involves using real-time feedback of an individual's brain activity, typically measured through EEG, to train and modulate brain functions. Neurofeedback techniques aim to enhance self-regulation of brain activity and can be used to improve attention, emotional regulation, cognitive performance, and other cognitive functions. By providing individuals with information about their own brain activity, they can learn to modify and optimize their brain functioning. Neurofeedback is an example of an applied technique that draws on applied neuroscience principles to enhance cognitive abilities.
At New Mind Brain Health Centre, our practitioners are actively engaged in producing scientific papers in cutting-edge fields of neuroscience, including applied psychophysiology, and EEG biofeedback/neurofeedback. The majority of our practitioners are registered members of the prestigious Malaysian Society of Neurosciences (MSN), reflecting our commitment to excellence. We are dedicated to developing and enhancing applied neuroscience-related products, services, and processes, pushing the boundaries of innovation.
