肠胃又被称为第二个大脑,它的影响包括有……?

长久以来,许多专家和学者一直在寻找造成失智症的原因,并不断探究失智症与大脑的关联性。对大脑可造成重要影响的元素有很多,如今亦有研究指出肠胃功能其实也是影响失智与否的重要因素。

其实在目前已知的防失智、活化大脑的方法中,饮食是其中的main point。人们可以透过饮食来预防,包括食用坚果、深海鱼等富含不饱和脂肪酸的食物,而肠胃对于大脑的关系是什么呢?肠胃是消化吸收器官,将食物转化成小分子的营养素供身体所需,因此肠胃道会接收来自外来的毒素以及体内产生的毒素,为了避免毒素入侵体内,肠胃也扮演着防卫兵的角色,借由肠胃道的菌种,诱导免疫系统发展。

肠胃又被称为第二个大脑,分布着许多神经汇集,并传送讯息给中枢神经,而大脑血清素的制造,大多是透过肠胃道对大脑发出的讯息,并透过肠内菌丛传送到脑部,因此许多研究发现大肠激躁症、忧郁症、焦虑症、慢性疲劳等身心疾病,都与肠胃道的运作有关。

研究指出若肠胃道功能失调的话,就会影响脑部运作,并使输送到大脑的血液紊乱,长期下来恐是造成大脑萎缩或退化的原因;当肠胃不健康破坏肠胃的益生菌丛,造成身体毒素累积、免疫力下降,就会造成过敏、感冒等情况,所以肠胃保健非常重要,肠胃保健首重饮食均衡,并保持三餐定时、规律运动、多喝水的习惯,也建议定时做肠胃健检,掌握肠胃健康状况。
